As Pennsylvania and the broader PJM region face increasing electricity demand from data centers, manufacturing reshoring, and electrification, Bradford Solar provides needed power that will keep energy bills stable and our grid reliable.

Bradford Solar represents a significant economic development opportunity in Bradford County. This includes:

  • An estimated $10 million in tax revenue over the project’s lifetime, directly funding schools, emergency services, road maintenance, and public infrastructure across Towanda, Franklin, Monroe, and Burlington Townships
  • Over 100 construction jobs during the 12-18 month build phase
  • Ongoing revenue for local contractors and suppliers through our Regional Business Partnership program, which works to give opportunities to local contractors and businesses, so they can also participate in the construction and operation of this project.
  • Stable tax base that doesn’t strain local services—solar facilities require minimal public infrastructure while generating consistent revenue

 

Additionally, Bradford Solar has already invested in our community, establishing a track record of commitment before construction even begins. Investments include:

  • $100,000 annually over the life of the project to local school districts ($50,000/year to Troy Area School District + $50,000/year to Towanda Area School District)
  • Support for first responders through contributions to the Bradford County Deputy Sheriff Benevolent Association
  • A local giving program, including sponsorship of the PA250 Bell, to celebrate America’s 250th birthday, and ongoing collaboration with the Bradford County Conservation District to educate the community about solar and storage projects.
